The President of Second Act Communities, a national non-profit housing corporation headquartered in Virginia Beach, Va. is seeking an extraordinary college student for a two-year internship.
Candidates should be full-time on-campus (not full time online) rising juniors whose expected graduation date is Spring 2020) with a certified minimum 3.0 GPA. We are seeking students majoring in marketing, communications, urban planning, nonprofit management or business. Must have demonstrated great business writing and oral communications skills.
The successful candidate will work remotely (from their campus) ten hours a week during the academic year; and 40 hours a week in our Virginia Beach Headquarters during the summer. The position is available as early as May 1, 2018 for full time summer work. Pay is $11/hr. This is a long term temporary position with no medical or leave benefits, but lots of personal and professional rewards.
The position will include learning opportunities related to research and writing, event planning and management, data collection, marketing, real estate development, community revitalization, and fundraising.
Intern must have their own a laptop and printer/scanner for use during academic year. During the summer, they must have access to a car.
The background check will include two references from professors, a criminal background check and drug test.
